Putting on muscle increases your metabolism. Did you know that when you add muscle to your body your body will burn more calories than normal? Even more while you are sleeping! If fact, it can be more effective than cardio alone for those wanting to burn fat.
If you are trying to put on muscle you need to be sure that you’re getting enough protein in your diet to build your muscles. If you plan on packing on some massive muscles I recommend between1-2 times your total weight in protein grams per day.
If you are going to do cardio, I recommend working out a maximum of 5 days per week to allow your body a couple of days recovery.
